With your help, Firelight has officially crossed its first Stretch Goal, and the Jumbo Dice are now yours to roll! Thank you all for helping us cross this huge milestone!

Our Kickstarter's "Stretch Goals" section will be updated soon to reflect this.

1 Week Left!
over 7 years ago – Wed, Aug 02, 2017 at 09:10:04 PM

Good afternoon Adventurers! As of today at 8am PST, there is exactly one week remaining in the Firelight Kickstarter campaign! It's hard to believe we're already nearing the end of what has proven to be an incredibly exciting, humbling first campaign for HobbyHorse Games.

As of now, the campaign has raised 135% of its initial funding goal, just $53 shy of its first Stretch Goal. The next few pledges should send us past that milestone, and on our way towards meeting the second Stretch Goal as the campaign readies for the final push.

And don't forget that in passing the 150% funding mark, you'll cross off yet another Backer Achievement for the campaign! We're close to finishing off the second tier, with over 1,000 Twitter followers, nearly 1,000 shares and 115 Facebook likes. If we can cross all of those off, the community will be able to help us design a second Quest for our Eldritch Visions expansion pack!

As always, we want to thank everyone who has contributed to the campaign so far, and we wish you all a great week ahead! I know ours will be full of excitement.

More Firelight Artwork and Quests!
over 7 years ago – Sat, Jul 29, 2017 at 11:30:55 PM

Another Saturday, another art dump for Firelight! This week's post features artwork by Michelle Czajkowski and Loika. As always, if you're curious about the artwork, you can get a closer look at the making of Firelight and its artwork in the "Embers: The Art & Lore of Firelight" Add-On book!

Wren's Dream, by Michelle Czajkowski

If you've watched our Kickstarter video, the "Wren's Dream" image may have been the first bit of Firelight you've ever seen. It's colorful, detailed and striking - But what is the story behind it? In a Quest titled "In Your Dreams", players find themselves infiltrating the troubled subconscious of a talented witch named Wren. As an Adventurer, it is your job to find the memories that are haunting Wren and reconcile them from within her own mind, all while battling a group of ethereal enemies who aim to turn Wren's powerful magic to a darker end.

I Do, by Loika

On the other end of the spectrum is "I Do", a fun little Quest that's practically begging for some mischievous Adventurers to come along and cause trouble. Your party has been hired as wedding planners, and as such, you will need to hunt game to prepare a feast, forage for decorations and even conduct the wedding ceremony yourself. Any Adventurer can have fun in this lighthearted Quest, but those with mischievous Personality cards such as "Pyromaniac", "Wants to Take Over the World" or "Romantic" can really have a devious time (potentially at the doting couple's expense).

All Tier One Achievements Completed!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Jul 25, 2017 at 07:19:24 PM

Congrats Firelight community! You've officially completed all of the Tier One Backer Achievements, which means you'll get to help design one Quest for our first expansion, Eldritch Visions. Look out for an email survey shortly after the campaign which will collect opinions for the first EV Quest (this will be separate from the BackerKit survey sent to confirm pledge levels and Add-Ons).

With the first Tier down, the second has been unlocked. Your new Achievements, along with some accompanying stats, are:

  • Reach 150% funding: That's only 33% higher than where our campaign stands at this moment!
  • Hit 150 Facebook Likes: 111 down, 39 more to go.
  • Get to 1,100 Twitter followers: We've nearly crossed the 1,000 mark already, so keep up the great work!
  • Share the campaign 1,000 times: This is the biggest one for us - None of this, from the funding to the Achievements, happens without your support in sharing our campaign with friends. We were shocked and humbled to see Firelight shared so widely on social media during the first half of our campaign. We're already pushing 710 shares, and 1,000 should be just ahead!

New Art + Quest Spotlight!
over 7 years ago – Sat, Jul 22, 2017 at 10:23:55 AM

Happy Weekend Adventurers! As we head into our second Saturday, it's time to reveal more new artwork, Quests and Adventurers from Firelight

Remember, the art below is featured prominently in "Embers: The Art & Lore of Firelight", so if you like what you see here, be sure to get the Add-On before the end of our campaign! You'll be able to see development sketches and design notes for the following pieces, as well as all of the others created for the game!

To the Victor, by Caitlin Scannell

This artwork introduces an action-packed Quest for Adventurers. Champion wrestler Jackson Blackburn has been accused by an accomplice of foul play, and you've been hired to go behind the scenes and gather evidence. By day, you'll take on a flamboyant wrestling personality of your choice, and battle your way up the ranks to the cheers of the crowd. But by night, you'll slink backstage for a little homebrew detective work as you try to gather evidence of Jackson's guilt.

The Archer, by Loika

The Archer is the most perceptive Adventurer in Firelight. Archer players can use their wiles to detect traps, look for clues in the environment, and much more. Archers are also acrobatic, which helps them when making dangerous leaps and escaping battle. Using their trusty bow and arrow, Archers can initiate combat with faraway enemies, and even fire rope arrows to attach to distant surfaces.
